The Challenge

HealthCare is widely recognized as one of the most important and looked-upon sectors. We all know the importance of this industry and it was only highlighted even more since COVID-19.

The pandemic brought forth many organizational challenges and bottleneck situations throughout the industry. HealthCare personnel also have to adhere to stringent compliances, data security regulations, and much more.

A quick dive at the problems faced:

  • Internal communication was done via phone calls. Patient management took a direct hit due to it.
  • Patient information was kept manually on physical documents. As the organization grew, it turned out to be a paperwork nightmare.
  • While undergoing various stages and phases of treatments, doctors had trouble with their schedules, owing to high number of online consultations, along with onsite patients.
  • Patient onboarding was done manually. In terms of digital presence and ORM (Online Reputation Management), there was no website or digital mediums to capture the genuine and advanced care and treatment provided.
  • Maintaining the inventory, taxation, billing, and other tasks were done using different software(s). Also, the interface of the software(s) was not intuitive, required additional training, excessive maintenance. Thus, adding to the organizational chaos.
  • As paperwork kept mounting, digital conversion required personnel to physically scan and upload documents, which often led to data duplication across different branches.
  • They used 18 software for different tasks, which often led to confusion, and collaborative differences.
  • Many tasks were manually done which used an extremely important resource – The doctor’s time.
  • Each software came with its challenges. Some required parent company support, delaying the organization’s every day and crucial tasks.

  • Manual paper scanning: 4 employees+200 doctor hrs: ~ $12,500 (10 lac INR)
  • Software cost (non-essential): ~ $40,000 (32 lac INR)
  • Other manual tasks handled by different medical personnel: 40 employees: approx. 1500 hrs: ~ $25,000 (20 lac INR)
